A former high school English teacher, Wartski conducted writing workshops and authored many books.〔(Official homepage )〕 Wartski attended the University of Redlands and received a B.A. in 1962 from Sophia University. That same year she became a naturalized U.S. citizen.〔()〕 She married Maximilian Wartski; they had two sons and three grandchildren. The Wartskis resided in North Carolina.
